John joined FDC Law in March 2015, and became a partner in 2017. He is based in the Midsomer Norton office.
He specialises in civil litigation, including personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence, land and construction disputes, contentious probate and insurance litigation.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1994 he has a broad range of civil litigation experience and has acted for both Claimants and Defendants.
He has extensive experience in Claimant personal injury work and since 2000 has been a member of The Law Society’s Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme. He has undertaken a wide variety of claims from road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping and slipping, occupier’s liability, product liability, industrial disease (asbestos, Vibration White Finger (VWF/HAVS), deafness etc.) and travel/holiday accidents. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
In clinical negligence claims he acts in a wide variety of cases from negligent treatment, misdiagnosis, defective products etc. in claims against a range of healthcare professionals from GPs, dentists, hospital clinicians through to private cosmetic surgery providers.
He also has experience in professional negligence and general insurance work dealing, in a previous role, with Defendant professionals within the legal, financial and construction industries.
In contentious probate matters he acts in a range of matters from claims challenging the validity of Wills through to claims for dependency under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
He has a Masters degree in Law, has published a number of articles and regularly presents talks/seminars.
