FDC Law are proud to be sponsoring Midsomer Norton Pride for a 4th year

Posted on 9th July 2020

Coronavirus has seen the cancellation of many major events throughout 2020, and whilst Midsomer Norton Pride has been unable to go ahead in the usual way, the event will be going online!

We are proud to be sponsoring the event for the 4th year in a row. This year Pride will take place remotely, on Saturday the 11th July 2020, and we hope that many of you will get involved.

Official press release: -

This Saturday will see the return of Midsomer Norton Pride 2020, but this year will be a very different sort of pride. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, pride will be marked in Midsomer Norton with an online Zoom webinar to give everyone a taste of the usual weekend of events. Chair of Midsomer Norton Pride, Grant Johnson said, “We have had to dramatically change our planned events due to COVID-19, but we were determined to bring everyone an event to mark Midsomer Norton Pride. Starting at 7pm, we will be bringing you a mash up of our usual drag performances, bake off competition and Q&A with our panel of guests and drag queens. The fight for LGBTQ+ equality is ongoing in our community and around the world, so the ability to put on an inclusive event that supports this section of our local community is invaluable”

Pride has once again been sponsored by local solicitors FDC Law, Marjorie Taylor, who is a partner at FDC Law said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Midsomer Norton Pride again this year – it’s important to us to support local events and organisations, and we have been proud to support Pride for the past 4 years. This year, we shall miss being able to meet up for the Bake Off and other events but were glad to learn that MSN Pride would still be taking place, even though this year it has to be on a remote basis – we are looking forward to it!

This year will see the return of drag queen Donna Trump, who will be performing alongside fellow drag queen Yshee Black and there will also be a performance from drag king Christian Gay. Local residents can get involved with the event by submitting questions to a live Q&A and by entering Midsomer Norton Pride’s staple bake off competition. Grant added, “You can submit a picture of your fabulous bakes on the theme of pride via the Midsomer Norton Pride Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning a £20.00 voucher of your choice and take home the Bake Off trophy.”

We are looking forward to seeing all the wonderful bakes and hope everyone enjoys the event!
