Wills

It is an alarming fact that a significant number of people still die either without having made a will or, where a will has been made, without keeping it up-to-date. Making a will becomes particularly important when major events in your life occur, such as getting married, starting a family, divorce or buying a house - for example, if the value of a new house will result in an Inheritance Tax liability on death.

We can make sure that your assets are distributed the way that you want them to be and without leaving problems such as disputes and large and unexpected tax burdens for family and friends. Many people also believe that making a will is a complicated process. It need not be. Our specialist will lawyers offer a friendly, cost-effective and expert will-writing service and will guide you through the process as quickly and simply as possible. We are also fully transparent about our charges with no hidden costs for 'extras' such as executing the will or witnessing your signature. We are fully regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and in asking  to prepare your will you can be sure of the best service and advice.

Probate and Trusts

We have a long-established probate and trust practice. Following a death our specialists can assist you sympathetically and professionally with all the practical aspects of dealing with an estate at what will be a very difficult time. We can help with registration of the death through to conclusion of the estate. We pride ourselves on providing sensitive, expert help to alleviate the burden often placed on personal representatives and we are highly experienced in acting as executors.

Our trusts work has helped many people over the years, whether in creating, amending, administering or closing trusts - or advising on all aspects of Trust Law. A trust created during an individual's lifetime or by his or her will on death can provide many benefits. There are tax planning considerations plus potential benefits such as flexibility to allow trustees to chose who should receive funds from a trust, and the ability to provide for the protection of vulnerable individuals.
