We are very happy to be supporting Frome Festival which is celebrating its 17th year this year.
Given our hundreds of years in Frome, we feel that we are very much a part of the community here and aim to be involved with local events such as the Festival.
This year’s festival runs from Friday 7th July to Sunday 16th July 2017. Members of our team will be enjoying various events and supporting the festival. Organisers have revealed an impressive list of entertainment, with comedian Andy Parsons, 70s glam rock band, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, writer Germaine Greer, broadcaster, actor and writer Gyles Brandreth and former MP and Strictly Come Dancing star, Ann Widdecombe, amongst others.
The Festival features performances, workshops, walks, talks, literary events, concerts, exhibitions, and much more. This year’s event will be formally opened on Wednesday 5th July with a Gala Concert at Cooper Hall featuring world renowned opera star, Dame Felicity Lott.
The Hall will also host the brilliant Bollywood Brass Band in a hugely entertaining night of participation in Indian dance, film and food. The Food Feast, Fashion Show, Roots Sessions and Frome Symphony Orchestra will also be featuring at the Cheese and Grain.
Martin Dimery, the Festival creative director, is delighted with the programme “We are being offered such a wonderful array of talents this year, as well as outstanding contributions from our local artists and performers. It should be a year to remember”
For those with a taste for literary events, guests include historian David Starkey, Writer Germaine Greer and a celebration of Jane Austen’s 200th anniversary including a recital of her little known musical compositions..
FDC Law partner Darrell Collins said “I’m really looking forward to attending some of the festival events, and I know many of colleagues feel the same. We’re very happy to be associated with the festival and can hardly wait for the fun to start!”
Festival programmes are now available and tickets go on sale on 21st May
